Typical solutions are sistered or engineered (LVL) joists under the tub footprint, positioning the tub over a load-bearing wall or beam line, and a solid mortar bed or doubled plywood underlayment to spread the point load. Every stone piece ships in a fully enclosed, ISPM-15 compliant wood crate with foam and blocking, by freight carrier with lift-gate service to your curb or front door, insured for its full value in transit. Sinks ship at a $249 crated freight rate and bathtubs at $999 within the continental US. Inspect the crate before signing the bill of lading and note any damage on it; claims must be filed within 48 hours with photos. White-glove delivery into the room, with placement, is available at a quoted rate on select pieces.

Our sinks and tubs are carved from one block of quarried marble, onyx or travertine, so the veining runs through the full thickness and the piece can be honed and refinished for generations. Cast stone and resin composites bond stone dust with polymer binders: they are lighter and cheaper, but the finish is a surface coating that can yellow, chip or delaminate and cannot be re-honed. Solid stone asks for sealing and neutral-pH care in return for a piece that is unique and lasts.

Seal the stone at installation and roughly every 6–12 months with a penetrating stone sealer. Clean with pH-neutral soap and water, wipe away standing water, and avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners such as vinegar, citrus, bleach and scouring pads. Etching from acids is cosmetic and can be re-honed by a stone professional; it is not a defect.
